Climbing Photography Exhibition

Im lucky, I live in a beautiful country, my hobby(obsession) is climbing/bouldering/mountain going and this takes me to some amazing locations with some great people, to marry these elements with my job as a photographer seems like the most natural thing in the world.
Here is a small collection of images from my climbing photography archive. All of these images were displayed as part of an  exhibition at the Tiso outdoor store in Edinburgh in November 2012 and they are all available for purchase online, please click here for buying options. If you have any questions about any of the photos please feel free to leave a comment or send me an email. Cheers, Sean.

Dancing in the dark

Rob and Laura were married on the beach at Loch Insh in the Scottish Highlands in what was a lovely(and windy) ceremony. After some family groups and candid photography around the Loch, we had an idea to shoot some couple pix at nearby Feshiebridge, so as the light was fading we all donned our wellies and hiking boots and went for a mess about on the river.I love shooting at this time of day, technically its more of a challenge to work in the near dark but with longer exposures dialled in, the electric blue tones of evening light really come out to play, mix this up with some creative off camera location lighting and good things start to happen! Thanks so much to Laura and Rob for letting me be their wedding photographer, it was a lovely day spent with good folk and Im so glad you like the images.Maybe I'll meet you on the slopes at Cairngorm sometime soon! All the very best! Sean.

Dundas is a stunning venue, with superb views from the top of 'The Keep' out over to the Forth bridges, The Firth of Forth and to 'The Hallowed Kingdom of Fife'(Where quite a few of Kirsty's family hail from) so I was doing my wee sundance on Friday evening in the hope I could take the happy couple 'up on the roof' to shoot some post ceremony shots. It all worked out on the day and we had fun shooting images on the tower and out over the gardens aswell. The service was a beautiful Humanist Ceremony situated in The Auld Keep and taken by the lovely Juliet Wilson. The guests then relaxed in the Castle grounds while we set up some of the big group shots as the kids ran around on the grass and generally had a ball. We worked through the groups quickly thanks to the help of handy Ushers and Best Man who were on good rounding up form (cheers guys!) and then I set up a few shots of James and Kirsty on their own, working well alongside the the top notch "DVD" guys Cherrytree Films who were filming the whole day aswell.Into dinner and I covered the speeches, lots of laughter is always great to photograph, including an interesting sailors hat, presented to James by his best man. Im not sure of the connection, but dont know if I want to go into the details :-) (stag do in-joke perhaps?).After dinner the early evening light was getting better all the time, with the sun creeping downwards the shadows were lengthening and creating some lovely warm light. for photographers, this 'golden light' is much more pleasing and more dramatic than the harsh light of a summer afternnon so I was keen to bag some more pictures of James and Kirsty at this time, so we all went out and had a bit of fun running around, using the setting sun to illuminate some both gentle and dramatic portraits before returning to the marquee for the first dance(James' first dance.. EVER :-))which he pulled off very well.Effort mate! Thanks for being so easy going on the day guys, all the very best to you both. Sean
